Alan Major

Alan is a logistics professional with extensive experience of logistics, warehousing, distribution and supply chain redesign.

He has spent the majority of his career within logistics and has managed teams within operations, customer service, key account management and business development.

Alan has worked with blue chip companies across a broad range of industry sectors including FMCG (for both retail and manufacturing), Hi-Tech, Defence, Industrial, and Healthcare.

During his early career Alan managed teams responsible for sales order processing and inventory management before taking responsibility for setting up VMI operations on behalf of a major retailer.

Subsequently Alan has undertaken a number of senior development roles with key logistics service providers. During this time he has been responsible for supply chain redesign projects resulting in new business wins valued in excess of £100 million. He has also been responsible for managing significant change and growth within an existing customer base.

Alan played a senior role in a consortium within the defence industry responsible for the redesign and rationalisation of the military supply chain. This resulted in savings in excess of £35 million per annum being identified.

In recent roles, Alan has acted as deputy to MD Development within a large 3PL. He has been involved in strategic development planning at corporate, sector and account level in addition to taking day to day responsibility for the development team.

Alan has been actively involved in training & coaching teams throughout his career.
